Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Kate Wylie (she/they) is an honors graduate of Webster University (c/o 2018) and Master of Fine Arts graduate of Pacific University in Oregon (c/o 2023) where she received the Washburn-Hayes merit scholarship and her graduate thesis, Requiem for Daisyworld, was overseen by 2023 Guggenheim Award winner Shara McCallum.
Wylie was first published in the Anthology of Poetry by Young Americans at the age of nine, received honorable mention for the River Styx Founders Award at seventeen, and became popularized during her time as contributor to the Ehlers-Danlos society magazine Loose Connections. Wylie is a founding member of Pacific University's PACT program as well as the owner/operator of indie publishing company Eleven West.
Wylie currently serves her community as Literary Obituaries Editor for The Northwest Review and Adjunct Professor of English at Webster University. Wylie's debut collection, The Ozark Mountain Equestrian Club for Dead Men, was published in June of 2024. Her second collection, Flowermouth, was published in October.
